Hanip Privacy Policy
Effective: September 11, 2026
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Hanip processes only the information needed to keep your food memories safe and provide the features you choose. We do not track you for advertising.
1. Information we process
- When you use the app only on your device: Dishes, restaurants, ratings, dates, tags, notes, selected photos, and place information are stored on your device.
- When you use Sign in with Apple and cloud sync: Your account identifier, device and session identifiers generated by the app, food entries, places and coordinates, tags, notes, ratings, visit dates, and selected photos are sent to the server over encrypted connections.
- When you share or paste social posts: Web links and text you provide are stored on this device. The shared inbox, before items are added to your wishlist, is excluded from cloud sync and backups. Source links and shared text saved to your wishlist are included in backup files you save and restore, but are not automatically synced to the cloud. Dish information you confirm and add, and source links included in notes when you create a food entry, are included in that entry's sync and backup. We do not automatically read your clipboard or collect social posts.
- When you use screenshot assistance: Apple Vision reads text on your device from up to three images you select individually using the system photo picker. You can edit the recognized text. This feature does not retain selected images in the app, send them to a server, or extract location metadata. Analysis that you do not use is discarded when you close the editor. Text you choose to save in dish or restaurant fields is stored with that item.
- When on-device AI finds additional suggestions: On supported devices, opening the shared-item editor or adding screenshot clues lets an Apple Foundation Models on-device model automatically analyze parts of the shared and recognized text to supplement suggestions. You can cancel or retry analysis. Suggestions are applied to fields only when you select them. No text or images are sent to external AI servers for analysis. Basic analysis, text recognition, and manual entry remain available when on-device AI is unavailable.
- When you search for places: Search terms or nearby-search coordinates pass through Hanip's server to the Kakao Local API or Google Places API. In the wishlist, search terms are sent when you run a restaurant search; screenshot images are not sent. To prevent abuse, we process a daily pseudonymous quota key derived from your IP address prefix. The original IP address is not stored in that quota store.
2. How we use information
We use this information to store, restore, and sync entries; search for places; authenticate and delete accounts; protect the service; respond to technical issues; and limit request volume.
3. Service providers
- Apple: Sign in with Apple
- Supabase: authentication, database, file storage, and server functions
- Cloudflare: the place-search rate-limit gateway
- Kakao and Google: place-search results
These services may process technical information, such as connection logs, under their own terms and privacy policies while providing their services.
4. Retention and deletion
Entries on your device are kept until you delete them in the app or remove the app's data. Cloud-synced data is retained while your account is active. Using Delete Account in Settings starts the deletion process for your account and cloud entries. Minimal processing logs for security and technical troubleshooting may be retained for a limited period under applicable laws or service providers' legitimate retention periods.
5. Your choices and rights
Sign in with Apple and cloud sync are optional. You can change camera, photo, location, and notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time. In the app's Settings, you can pause sync, sign out, or delete your account.
6. Tracking and advertising
Hanip does not display third-party advertising or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
7. Contact
For privacy questions, contact yes2310@gmail.com.
8. Changes to this policy
If the information we process or how we process it changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
